We don't select furnace types according to templates. Instead, we recalculate the heat flux distribution of the radiant and convection sections based on your crude oil flow rate, density, sulfur content, design outlet temperature, and allowable coking cycle. This controls the furnace tube metal temperature below the coking critical point, enabling the crude heater to operate continuously under high loads for extended periods, rather than "starting to coke immediately after commissioning."
This extends the decoking cycle, reduces furnace tube scrap rate, and improves the separation stability of the distillation tower.
Furnace tube life is designed for 10 years of continuous operation.
All furnace tube selections are based on design metal temperature, sulfur corrosion and high-temperature oxidation data, and crude oil salinity and sulfur content. Wall thickness is uniformly checked based on a design life of over 10 years, not a minimum standard of "meeting the minimum requirement for one-time delivery."
This reduces the frequency of mid-term overhauls and replacements, lowering the overall lifecycle cost of the unit.
